The End

The Web 2.0 exercise was a good “forced” introduction to social networking tools. In some cases it was “an explore further.” I appreciate the example of how libraries are using this new technology. I also have an expanded list of library blogs.

I look forward to going back and crafting my delicious account to be a reference and RA in my own work. At the moment I keep a paper list for books read except for picture books which I have in an Excel spreadsheet. Whether or not I change to other methods I don’t know. I will have to consider purpose, preference and ease of use. However, now I know of other sites besides LibraryThing that I can chose from.

del.icio.us

I have used this feature. It is easy and fun. Anytime I was in a website of interest I could just click and it was pretty much added to my list. I had just started organizing my account when I lost my password. When I am ready I will begin using again.

Largo Public Library (FL) uses Del.icio.us to organize their recommended sites.

Wikis

We used wikis in grad school:
* Finals - each person in our study group summarized a section and posted it to a wiki
* Project - website for an environment resource center.

I will be looking out for a wiki for ALA June 2010. It looked useful especially to the uninitiated.

Zoho

There was some confusion with Zoho as it already listed my email address. I had no recollection that I had been there before, but I was there and already had a document started...something about Ella finding golden orbs. Zoho was easy to use although I had a little difficulty changing fonts and finding the word count box. I tried publishing a document into my blog and it was easy to do.

It would be useful if co-workers were working on a plan or document together.

RSS Feeds & Google Reader

I signed up for google reader. I put in feeds to professional library blogs, favorite fun stuff, and a co-worker's informative and well-written blog.

Wishes

Wishes and other dream-like things (Zoho document transfer test).
